They left an indelible mark on the chronicles of America. But what is the story behind the fascinating, woman-founded religious sect known as the Shakers?
Shakers Revised unfolds the eventful and perilous voyage of the Shakers from industrial England to colonial America just before and during the Revolutionary War. The play imaginatively traces the Shakers’ journey to the New World where the “American Dream” becomes a reality. The comic and tragic moments within their travels make their saga as relevant today as it was in 1776.
Harrington Repertory is proud to present the world premiere of this dynamic award-winning play at historic THALIAN HALL, 310 CHESTNUT STREET, WILMINGTON, NC.
